This project marks the first use of an ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC150) tower globally, with Shanghai FL RENEWABLES utilizing ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) as the hybrid tower material.
Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) is a new type of building material, with a compressive strength that can exceed 150MPa, which is 4-6 times that of traditional concrete. Due to the addition of metal materials like steel fibers in UHPC's main components, the bond between cement matrix and steel fibers is very tight, which significantly enhances the density and tensile strength of UHPC, reducing the risk of chunks falling off and cracking.
